The Carotid Ultrasound Screen is a painless non-invasive screening test utilizing digital ultrasound technology. The carotid ultrasound is brief (approximately 10 minutes), does not require disrobing, and does not have any radiation exposure.
Scientific data shows that a Carotid Ultrasound Screen is the best tool for the assessment of stroke risk. Carotid Ultrasound Screen results correlate, to a limited degree, with cardiac risk assessment. However, combined with an EBT heart scan, you have an excellent screening profile of risk for peripheral arterial disease, MI (heart attack), and stroke.
