quality EBCT heart scans to Northern Colorado as well as introduce
virtual colonoscopy to Boulder County
Front Range Preventive Imaging is
dedicated to providing high quality imaging to provide early detection
of asymptomatic coronary artery disease, lung cancer, and
prevention of colon cancer.
Initially EBCT imaging was developed for coronary imaging to
detect early coronary heart disease, the leading cause of death in this
country. Lately, there has been an explosion of interest in screening for
other diseases, especially
lung and colon cancer (the top two cancer killers) by noninvasive
imaging.
Our "lungscan"
can detect stage 1 lung cancer, which is often
curable —we recommend it in all heavy smokers (past and present). It
is of greatest value when combined with the Heart Scan.
"Virtual" colonoscopy
reached the status of equivalent to standard
colonoscopy after a pivotal study was released in the New England
Journal of Medicine in December of 2003. We are
introducing this service using the very top 3D workstation developed
by Viatronix, a company of scientists and doctors from the State
University of New York at Stony Brook. In Colorado, we are working
with top radiologists who are exceedingly impressed with the
accuracy and advantages
of virtual colonoscopy using the Viatronix system.
