Heart & Lung Scans

Why Choose FRPI?

Heart disease is the leading killer of Americans and with early detection can be effectively treated. CT screening for lung cancer in a recent study increased the long term survival to 82%.  This is remarkable as the survival is usually less than 10% when diagnosed with Chest X-rays.

"Early detection can save lives!"

CT screening can find lung cancer as small as 2 mm in size.  Lung cancer does not show up on chest X-ray until it is over 10 times the size is can be seen on CT. The sooner we find lung cancer the better the cure rate.  Stage 1 lung cancers smaller than 15 mm in size were found to be curable over 90% of the time.

Why Early Detection?

Which Scan is Right for You

Should I get a Heart Scan?

What is Lung Screening?

Heart Scan only—if you have risk factors for heart disease or are concerned about unexpected early heart disease (screen), but you don't have significant exposure to cigarettes-get the heartscan only.

Heart Scan-Lung Screen combination— If you also have a significant exposure to smoking (past or present smoker, passive, etc.) or other known carcinogens, we advise the combination heartscan-lungscan (see lung screening). We will need the name of your physician in case of an abnormality in the chest.

"Body Scan"—Many people would like an examination of the heart, lung and abdomen (see Body scan).  We will need the name of your physician in case of an abnormality in the total body scan.
