I have High Blood Pressure-
|
Control of elevated blood pressure is very important in the
reduction of the risk of heart disease and strokes. Oftentimes,
it is helpful to ascertain whether hypertension as a risk factor
has led to the development of coronary disease or plaque. Our
doctors will also be looking for evidence of plaque in the aorta
and changes in size of the heart chambers, which is sometimes
evident from the thoracic image we obtain. If one has high blood
pressure and lots of plaque, more aggressive therapy will be
recommended.
