develop premature coronary atherosclerosis (plaque).
In general, diabetics should be treated with the same
preventive measures usually reserved for those who have proven heart
disease. However, a heartscan is helpful to verify the individual
recommendations as there are certainly many diabetics who are actually
at lower risk than predicted.
